The demand came from citizens to pass the resolution to ban the mining transportation through the Tilamol road, against the backdrop of the accident at Tilamol junction, where two women died on the spot and a two years old boy miraculously escaped with injuries after a mining truck collided into their two wheelers.
Assuring that all Xeldem panchayat members are with the people, Sarpanch Promod Gauns Dessai agreed to pass the resolution. “The resolution will be sent to mines department. We will support the people movement without any affiliation to any political party” said Dessai.
Meanwhile, Assolda Sarpanch Daya Naik asked the Gram Shaba members to identify suitable ward to erract the telephone tower as the people from Baga Xelvona are opposing the tower in their ward. “Some people are demanding the tower in Assolda as the people from that area are facining difficulties to get proper network,” informed Naik.
