Youth held for abducting,raping minor

In a second case in the last one month, a minor girl from the city was kidnapped and raped by a youth, who is presently cooling his heels in the Margao police lock-up.
The accused and the victim had gone missing from September 2 and the duo was traced by the Khanapur police today and later handed over to the team of Margao police.
Margao PI Santosh Desai said the incident occurred on September 2 when the girl hailing from Navelim-Sirvodem and the boy Bashir Sadekar, a resident of Malbhat went missing.
Medical examination of the girl has tested positive for rape, PI Desai said, adding that the accused has been arrested for kidnapping and raping the 14-year old girl.
Incidentally, this is the second time that an offence of kidnapping and rape has been reported in the city in less than a month. Last month, the Margao police had arrested a youth from the city for allegedly kidnapping and raping a minor girl.
