MARGAO: Margao Town police this morning arrested Akash Rajadhyaksh (20) for assaulting a KTC driver near Clube Harmonia in Margao at around 6.20 am.
The driver Shivanand Naik (52) had left the KTC bus stand Margao with passengers and was proceeding to Quepem when suddenly as they reached Clube Harmonia, Akash came with his car and blocked the bus.
He pulled the driver by his collar and started abusing him for over speeding and then suddenly removed a beer bottle from his car and smashed it on the driver’s head. The driver suffered injuries and is presently undergoing treatment at Hospicio.
Police have booked a case under Sections 341, 324, 353, 332 and 427 against Akash for wrongful restraint, causing hurt with deadly weapon, using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging duties, causing hurt to public servant and mischief.
