Aizawl FC dominated the proceedings right from the start with their forward trio Zamthianmang, Peter Lalduhawma and Lalmuankima Khawlhring creating some good moves upfront.
Aizawl FC took an early lead in the 8th minute when their forward Zamthianmang smartly beat the off-side trap to go head on against Sporting Clube custodian Tennyson Fernandes and calmly placed it into the left bottom corner of the nets.
Sporting Clube Juniors fought back through Standly Teotonio who displayed some amazing ball control taking on three defenders all by himself but the finish couldn’t get past the Aizawl keeper.
Aizawl FC got their second opportunity when Alister Costa of Sporting Clube brought down an Aizawl forward inside the box. Their front man Malsawmtluanga Ralte stepped up and converted the penalty in the 44th minute with a powerful right footed shot into the top corner making it 2-0 at the halftime.
Aizawl FC continued to dominate in the second half with an impressive high pressing football. They got their third goal in the 64th minute when a powerful free kick from Zamthianmang was punched out by Tennyson but the rebound was poked in by Peter Lalduhawma making it 3-0 in favour of Aizawl.
Zamthianmang added the fourth goal in the 80th minute. The final quarter saw Sporting put up a good fight but couldn’t beat a well drilled Aizawl defence.
