Appeals Committee to review Churchill Bros’ case

The Indian FA’s appeals committee will have to re-convene to re-look their decision of not granting a license to the reigning Federation Cup winners; This was after the Goan club knocked the doors of the Delhi High Court after they weren’t granted a license on the basis of the failure to fulfill the norms laid out by the AIFF

MUMBAI: The Delhi High Court have ordered the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to once again review Churchill Brothers Sports Club’s case as a meeting of their Appeals Committee has been called for.
This was after the Goan club knocked the doors of the Delhi High Court after they weren’t granted a license on the basis of the failure to fulfill the norms laid out by the AIFF.
“We will call a meeting before January 12 next as per the directions of the honourable Delhi High Court. The court has asked us to review the decision but Churchill have been barred from adding any fresh documents to the licensing criteria. The decision of the appeal committee will be regarded as final,” informed Sunando Dhar, the I-League’s CEO.
Justice NK Sud, Neel Ratan, Head Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC), Sanjiv Paul, MD, Tata Metaliks and Debabrata Mukherjee, VP, Coca Cola India comprise of the AIFF Appeals Committee.
It must be noted that Churchill had failed to fulfill several important criterion, chiefly relating to finance.
