RAIA: Arlem Youth Association defeated Dicarpali Sports Club 3-2 to secure a place in the quarterfinals of the Simon Barreto Memorial inter-village football tournament, organised by Maina Sports Club and played at the DSYA ground, Curtorim, on Wednesday.
Arlem dominated the first half with superior ball possession. They struck early, with goals from Sanjiro Pango in the 5th minute and Garrison Fernandes in the 18th minute. Despite creating several scoring opportunities through Bonny Niasso, William Niasso, and Donald Rocha, Dicarpali failed to convert, leaving Arlem ahead 2-0 at half-time.

The second half saw a spirited comeback by Dicarpali. Donald Rocha scored twice in quick succession, in the 33rd and 35th minutes, to level the match. Dicarpali continued to press for a winner, with William Niasso narrowly missing a powerful shot from the box.
However, the decisive moment came in the 58th minute when Sanjiro Pango scored his second goal, securing the victory for Arlem YA.
Donald Rocha of Dicarpali Sports Club was named man-of-the-match for his two-goal performance and received the award from Joaquim Sequeira.
