Arvind, Aaron & Anshuman move into semi-finals

RAIA: The men’s section at the Ulhas Jewellers – BPS Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2024 was ablaze with action at the multipurpose stadium in Fatorda. Following thrilling qualifying rounds, the pre-quarterfinals featured a star-studded line-up of top-seeded players and former State champions, making up the top 16. 

With stakes high, the current top-seeded players showcased their prowess against seasoned competitors. The inclusion of former State champions namely Diljeet Velingker and Reagan Pinto adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition.

The spectators were treated to a series of riveting matches, culminating in Arvind Kumar’s dominant 3-0 win over Noel Estibeiro and Nagesh Verenkar’s hard-fought 3-2 victory against Kewal Tamhankar. 

In the quarterfinals, Arvind Kumar continued his impressive run, defeating Rishan Shaikh 4-2. 

Anshuman Agarwal delivered a stunning 4-0 win over Diljeet Velingkar, while Aaron Farias showcased his talent with a commanding 4-0 victory against Chandan Caro. The highly anticipated fourth quarter-final between Nagesh Verenkar and Khushal Naik is scheduled for Sunday. 

The semi-finals promise more high-octane action as top seed Arvind Kumar faces Anshuman Agarwal and second seed Aaron Farias awaits the winner of the Verenkar vs Naik showdown.
