PANJIM: Assonora United prevailed over Merces SC 3-2 in the 7th Rusi Daver Cup Football tournament, organized by Adarsh Yuvak Sangh, at Saligao grounds, on Wednesday.
Assonora scored the first goal in the very first minute through Francis. Merces fought back and restored parity in the 25th minute with Caitan finding the net.
Changing over, Assonora regained the lead through hardworking Prajyot Arabekar. Norton Pontes doubled the lead converting a penalty.
Merces did not give up and succeeded in reducing the margin through Rupesh in the dying minutes.
