Ayansh Sanke, Anav Kannekar Enter U-11 Boys Final; Amaira Dhumatker to Face Komal Kothari in Girls Title Clash

PANJIM: Top seed Ayansh Sanke and third seed Anav Kannekar sealed their places in the U-11 boys singles final, while Amaira Dhumatker and Komal Kothari set up a thrilling clash in the U-11 girls singles at the State Badminton Ranking Tournament 2025 organised by Sunlite Sports and Cultural Club under the aegis of Goa Badminton Association (GBA) and Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) at the Indoor Stadium, Campal, here, on Sunday.
In the semi-finals, Ayansh downed Suven Sawant 21-10, 21-16, while Anav overcame Viaan Redkar in straight games, 23-21, 21-13. In the girls’ section, top seed Amaira cruised past Bhargavi Amshekar 21-1, 21-4, as Komal recorded a similar dominant 21-1, 21-1 win over Yashika Koneru.
In the U-13 boys singles, top seed Michael Mare was unstoppable, defeating Pratik Naik Borkar 21-6, 21-8, while Vishwa Parab produced a fine all-round display to oust third seed Samarth Sakhalkar 21-8, 21-15.
In the girls Singles, top seed Avni Khyalia was stretched by Pragya Audi before prevailing 22-20, 21-16, and Amaira Dhumatker continued her winning run with a composed 21-13, 21-13 victory over third seed Komal Kothari.
In the U-11 boys doubles, Anav Kannekar and Ayansh Sanke cruised past Sambhav Bhardwaj and Vivaan Betgeri 21-7, 21-8, while Suven Sawant and Viaan Redkar edged Sarthak Hazra and Zacharias Gonsalves 23-21, 21-11.
The U-13 boys doubles final will feature Samarth Sakhalkar and Vishwa Parab, who beat Ayansh Sanke and Krithik Reddy 21-5, 21-11, against Pratik Naik Borkar and Varun Sahakari, who overcame Daksh Kamat and Neil Punjanibakshi 21-16, 18-21, 21-12.
In U-13 girls doubles, Amaira Dhumatker and Avni Khyalia defeated Dvija Mamlekar and Radhika Haldankar 21-4, 21-3, while Komal Kothari and Pragya Audi beat Ashbah Tahasildar and Nehakumari Ram 21-10, 21-4.
