Betalbatim Sporting lift Wilred Leisure Cup

Betalbatim Sporting Club beat DBO Fatorda 3-2 via the sudden death in the finals of Wilred Leisure soccer organised by Wilred Leisure Sports Club, Curtorim at Curtorim ground.
Both teams played good football to delight a large Sunday crowd, but could not score due to good goalkeeping by both custodians.
In the sudden death, Betalbatim proved better shooters. Dickson, Hasten and Bradley scored for Betalbatim while Sunjay and Wilson scored for DBO. Desmond of Betalbatim saved four penalty kicks from Roger, Simon, Ovlito and Vincent.
The winners pocketed Rs 35, 350 while the runners-up had to be content with Rs 25, 250.
Following individual prizes were awarded: Best goalkeeper of finals Terrance Barbosa (DBO). Best defender of finals Malcom Fernandes (Betalbatim). Best half of finals Aniston (Betalbatim). Best striker of finals Vincent Barbosa (DBO).
Shrinivas V Dempo, president, GFA was the chief guest. Reginaldo Lourenco, MLA was the guest of honour. Elvis Gomes, vice-president, GFA was the special invitee.
Joe Vaz welcomed. Diniz Sardinha proposed the vote of thanks.
