RAIA: Candolim Veterans blanked Navelim Veterans 2-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the Rachol Veterans Cup organised by Rachol Veterans, at Raia village panchayat ground, on Tuesday.
Candolim dominated the match for the first twenty minutes and netted two quick goals which came from the boots of Claudio Pacheco and Caetano Xavier in the 7th and 20th minutes respectively.
Thereafter, Candolim guarded the defence lines and protected their fort and did not allow the Navelim strikers from striking the ball at the goal till the end of the match.
Candolim Veterans will now meet the winners of Quepem Veterans and Benaulim Veterans in the quarter-finals on March 30.
