PANJIM: Churchill Brothers SC thumped Betalbatim SC, 6-1 in the U-16 League organised by Goa Football Association, at Artificial Turf, Fatorda, on Tuesday.
Aaron Rodrigues scored a hat-trick while Meckenzie Fernandes, Meven Dias and Harsh Patel scored one each for the winners. Noah Azode scored the lone goal for Betalbatim SC.
Sirlim SC beat Ave Maria AWC 3-0 in a game, at Ambelim ground. Prinson Fernandes scored a brace and Flenco Rodrigues scored one to help Sirlim SC walk home with all points.
In a game held at Navelim ground, Navelim Villagers Union came from behind to hold AA de Majorda to a 2-2 draw. Lawren Fernandes and Babersab Shaikh scored two goals to give the away team a 2-0 lead but it was a star performance from Nash Pereira of the home side, as his two quick goals helped both teams share points.
Elsewhere, Sporting Club de Goa and Candolim SC played a 1-1 draw. Joseph D’Souza gave the orange side a lead in the 38th minute, but the Candolim boys came out strong and found the equaliser in the 68th minute through Anthony Fernandes.
Salgaocar FC gained all points in another game scheduled to be held at Nagoa ground as their opponents Pax of Nagoa SC failed to turn up at the venue.
