PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant appreciated the Physical Education teachers for their efforts to reach out to the students during the pandemic and assured of help to the young talent in the sports talent.
“If you want to maintain good physical health then a physical education teacher plays a very important role. Recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced the Fit India Movement. He always says Fitness ka dose, adha ghanta rose (Fitness for half an hour everyday),” said Pramod Sawant.
While addressing various Physical Education teachers at the webinar on the occasion of National Sports Day organised by CMO Goa and Directorate of Education and Directorate of Sports, Sawant reiterated the importance of recognizing talents, providing right training & counselled them to help them achieve their full potential.
“It is important to hunt young talent in the sports sector. Government is ready to help them and provide the required platform to take them forward if needed. We have to prepare kids for State Level, National Level competitions, Olympics,” stated Sawant who added that Goa has one of the good infrastructures but still very few youngsters participate in competitions
CM interacted with various physical education teachers. He also evaluated overall work done by the Physical Education teachers during COVID-19 pandemic. Director of Education, Bhusan Savaikar and Director of Sports, Mekala Chaitanya Prasad, IAS were also present on the occasion.
