PANJIM: Compassion FC scored a fluent 4-0 win over Don Bosco Oratory S&C YC, Panjim in the GFA U-14 Ilhas Zone Football league match played at the Don Bosco ground, Panjim.
The scores were even at the break as Don Bosco keeper Valentino Rosario put up commendable performance in the first session coming up with brilliant saves.
Compassion FC scored the first goal in the second session when Sitroy Carvalho ran down the left flank from the centre line cutting past a host of defenders and then passed the ball to Ashish who then cut past a defender and paved the way for Sitroy to send in a powerful kick which beat the Don Bosco goalkeeper who was helpless to give the Compassion FC the start.
In the 56th minute it was Sitroy once again with the team’s second goal.
He received a well measured pass from the hard working Suraj who created excellent openings througout the match to give Allen a through ball who cut past two defenders and then had Sitroy to score past Valentino in the Bosco goal.
Just three minutes later, Stanford Colaco put the match beyond doubt for the Compassion FC Boys victory by scoring the third goal in the 59th minute.
Sitroy Carvalho completed his hat-trick when he nodded in a Suraj’s corner kick.
Compassion FC at the end of their league matches in the Ilhas Zone had 15 points from five wins and the two losses they suffered against the top two teams Dempo and Sporting Clube de Goa and showed the team management that the underprivileged Boys can do well if given a platform to excel in sports.
