PANJIM: Cortalim Gymkhana emerged winners in a seven-goal thriller beating Rossman Cruz, Nagoa-Verna in the Goa Football Association U-14 League match played at Chicalim ground, on Monday.
Cortalim Gymkhana led 2-0 at the break after goals from Nihar Naik and Melron Gama put them in a commanding position at the break.
However, Cortalim were stunned by a fighting comeback from their opponents as they found themselves on equal ground as Rossman Cruz made it all square with Darshan Parjapathi and Harish K scoring.
Both the goals came in the span of three minutes in the 43rd and 46th minutes. Cortalim once again took the lead in the 54th minute through Wesley D’Sa only to see it equalised within four minutes by Harish K for Rossman who completed his brace of the evening.
But there was more to the game, Valroy Dias scored the match-winner in the 63rd minute for Cortalim.
In another match played at Cansaulim ground, A A de Majorda scored a fluent 4-1 win over Baina SC.
Langstan Vas, Rohish Gawade, Imran Bairapur and Irfan Lal scored for the winning side who led 2-0 at the break.
Narayan Saroj pulled a goal back for Baina SC.
