VELSAO/PALE: Cortalim Villagers got the better of Dabolim United SC 4-1 in the GFA Second Division football match, played at Velsao ground, on Thursday.
Elvis Pereira opened the account for Cortalim Villagers in the 9th minute.
Within five minutes, Valente Pereira equalised for Dabolim.
The scores were level 1-1 at the break.
Changing ends, Cortalim regained their lead in the 68th minute through Rostan Vaz while Sevon Costa made it 3-1 for Cortalim in the 75th minute. Lester Gama also scripted his name on to the score sheet as he scored the team’s fourth goal in the 89th minute.
At Ambelim ground, Raitura SC thumped St Sebastian UC 8-0.
Immamsab scored a hat-trick for Raitura. Abhay scored a brace while Wilfred Gomes, Melroy Dias and Astel Colaco scored a goal each to take the final tally to 8-0, for
Raitura SC.
At Chicalim ground the match played between Cross Boys and Baina Youth Recreational Club ended 4-4 draw.
At Goa Velha ground, Portais SC stunned Dempo Sports Club Juniors 2-1.
Remus Gomes opened the account for Dempo in the 9th minute from the spot kick after Portais defender brought down Kapil Hoble in the box.
In the 13th minute, Manjunath Rathod levelled terms for Portais with a deft placement.
Piedade colaco scored the match winner in the 40th minute for Portais.
Portais led 2-1 at the break.
Crossing ends, Dempo SC Jrs went all out in search of the equaliser, but their striker force couldn’t beat the Portais defence.
