MARGAO: Colmorod Ratvado Sports Club (CRSC), Navelim scored a hard fought 2-1 win over Salcete Football Club in a GFA under-14 football match at Rosary ground, Navelim, Friday.
CRSC surged ahead in the very eighth minute when Bevan Fernandes slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot off a pass from Aaron Alvares.
Stunned by the setback, Salcete regrouped quickly and raided the rival citadel umpteen times. Their efforts materialized in the 20th minute when striker Arvind Silva punished the rival goalkeeper with a deft placement.
Post resumption, the teams went all-out in search of the match-winner but the defenders stood tall in protecting their respective citadel.
CRSC struck the match-winner in the 55th minute when Craves D’Souza bulged the net.
Other results — Assnora FSC were held to 1-1 draw by Bicholim Association FC; Ave Maria beat Sirlim SC 1-0; AA de Majorda drew with Rossman Cruz Nagoa 1-1. Guardian Angel SC were held to a 2-2 by Raia FC.
