RAIA: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, marched into the semi-finals of the Late Fr Gervasio Pinto Memorial football tournament, organised by Guardian Angel SC, Curchorem, with a 3-1 victory over Navelim Sporting Club, at Figueredo ground, Pontemol-Curchorem, on Wednesday.
Both teams displayed attacking intent from the outset, entertaining the crowd with end-to-end action, but the first half ended goalless.
In the second session, Don Bosco Oratory took control of the game as Shubert Colaco, Velito Miranda and Hanshlum Furtado scored in the 32nd, 40th, and 50th minutes respectively. Navelim Sporting managed to pull one back through Maevan in the dying minutes, but it was too late to change the outcome.
Velito Miranda’s outstanding display earned him the man-of-the-match award, which was presented by Denzil Fernandes.
