PANJIM: Dempo beat Geno by 43 runs in the eliminator of the Goa Premier League, organised by Goa Cricket Association, at GCA ground, Porvorim, on Saturday.
Geno won the toss and elected to field. Dempo scored 205 in 39.5 overs.
Lalit Yadav was the top scorer with 28 runs off 38 balls followed by skipper Sagun Kamat (27) and Srinivas Fadte (20).
The Geno bowlers put in a decent performance as Darshan Misal and Samad Fallah grabbed 2 wickets each. Harshad Gadekar, Anant Tambrekar, Swapnil Singh and Shanu picked a wicket each.
In reply, Geno were bundled out for 162 runs in 35.2 overs.
Sidhesh Ramani was the top scorer with 40 runs off 48 balls followed by Anant Tambrekar(25) and Swapnil Singh (22).
The Dempo bowlers put in a effortless performance to restrict their opponents as Subodh Bhati, Rahul Mehta, Vinay Chaudhary and Lalit Yadav grabbed 2 wickets each while Srinivas Fadte picked up one.
Vinay Chaudhary was named man-of-the-match.
