OLD GOA: Dempo SC ran riot over Clube Sao Miguel de Taleigao 6-0 at Dempo Academy ground, at Old Goa in the Goa Football Association U-14 League North Zone match.
The young Eagles opened the score tally in the second minute when Leethan Silveira played a perfect cross to Topon Mirj, who made no mistake in scoring the goal.
In the ninth minute, Topon Mirj played a defence splitting pass to Leethan Silveira, who doubled the account. Minutes later, Asmon Viegas scored for Golden Eagles when he capitalised on a goalkeeper slip-up when he failed to cleanly collect a Leethan Silveira’s shot and Asmon was the quickest to react.
By the 16th minute Dempo SC were up by four goals as Asmon scored his brace after being fed by Leethan Silveira. Golden Eagles were up by four goals at the break.
Crossing over, Leethan Silveira completed his brace when he controlled a long ball played by Hansel Oliveira.
Finally in the dying minutes of the game, Asmon Viegas completed his treble and scored Dempo SC’s sixth of the evening.
In another match played at Don Bosco ground, Panjim, Don Bosco Oratory Panjim scored a thrilling 3-2 win over Ponda Footballers. The winners led 1-0 at the break after Siash Amonkar scored in the 32nd minute.
In the second half, Murphy Fernandes doubled the account after the break.
However, Ponda Footballers regrouped quickly and scored two quick goals through Aditya Sataykar and Rishab K. But the Ponda side couldn’t hold on to the draw as they conceded the late goal in the second half extra time. Reagen Fernandes scored the match-winner for the Panjim side.
