PANJIM: Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College, Assagao won the inter-collegiate cricket championship for women organised by Goa University, at University ground, Taleigao Plateau, recently.
In the final DM’s college defeated Dempo College, Cujira by 25 runs.
Batting first DM’s college scored 133 for 6 in 20 overs. Shreya Parab 24 and Rakshanda Pilankar 49 not out were the chief contributors for their team. Chetna Tirodkar 3/19 bowled well for Dempo.
In reply, Dempo College were all out for 108 in 18.5 overs. Saisha Naik scored 43 and Chetna Tirodkar scored 21.
Mrunal Barve took 4 wickets for 22 and Rakshanda Pilankar claimed 2 for 15 runs.
Earlier in the semi finals DM’s college defeated MES College Zuarinagar by 7 runs and Dempo College defeated Chowgule College, Margao by 8 wickets.
