PER-SERAULIM: Excel Rovers, Loutolim got the better of Varca Veterans 5-4 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the 18th Flame of Unity Veterans soccer, at Per-Seraulim Mabai ground, on Monday.
Loutolim’s Augustine Cardozo took control of the ball from Vincy Pereira and dribbled past Jack Gonsalves and Socorro Pereira and shot from close range but the latter’s shot was denied by the Varca cross bar in the eighth minute. Three minutes later, Varca’s Yuri Ferrao sent in a long ball to Rocky Goes but the latter’s shot was saved by the Loutolim keeper.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Excel Rovers Loutolim proved to be better shooters.
