PANJIM: Fatorda Boys, Fatorda defeated Blessed Joseph Vaz, Sancoale 2-0 to waltz into the quarter-finals of the London Cup football tournament organised by Siridao Boys at River Plate Siridao sports club ground on Wednesday.
In the first 20 minutes of play both teams had an equal number of chances but it was the Sancoale team that came closest to scoring however the Fatorda keeper affected a wonder save.
Fatorda Boys gradually grew into the match and started mounting pressure on the rivals with neat one touch passing. In the 29th minute of 1st half Minguel of Fatorda netted a powerful shot at to give his side the lead.
In the 2nd half, the match was dominated by the Sancoale team but they failed to convert their chances.
The Fatorda Boys again raised the tempo and took the match in their stride as Valton rounded keeper to slot home and inflate the tally for Fatorda to take his team into the quarter-finals.
