The visitors scored through Chrisley Costa’s delightful header. However, a couple of minutes before the breather Vaddem’s Edbreg Sequeira drove a stiff grounder past the Navelim keeper to level terms, 1-1.
When it looked the teams were heading for the penalty shootout, Brian Rodrigues scored the match-winner with a power right-footer from top of the penalty box, 2-1.
The chief guest Freddy Fernandes, former Sarpanch of Nachinola and guest of honour, Franky Fernandes handed over the winner’s trophy and cash prize of Rs 30,000 to Friends XI, Vaddem and runners-up trophy and cash prize of Rs 20,000 to Mandoppa Navelim.
Individual prizes were awarded to First goal of the final Chrisley Costa (Navelim), Best goalkeeper Naved Almeida (Vaddem), Best defender Alister Gomes (Navelim), Best midfielder Edberg Sequeira (Vaddem).
