PANJIM: Goa Police proved too strong for Santa Cruz following their straight sets win in the 52nd All Goa Crown Club Volleyball Tournament, the Silvestre de Oliveira Trophy, on Tuesday.
Goa Police beat Santa Cruz 25- 17, 25-15, 25-12.
Nitin and Koyla gave the policemen an easy win with their powerful smashing.
In another match, Crown Club got the better of Barazan in straight sets 25-21, 25-18 25-16. Aron and Bharat shone for the winners.
In the second match, Vathari SC had to fight for every point to defeat Baba Sai Sports Club in straight well contested sets, 25 -21, 25-20, 25-23.
Sarvan excelled for the winners while Viraj fought back for Baba Sai.
Earlier the tournament was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Ricardo Pinheiro Parish Priest of Santa Cruz.
