DANDO-BENAULIM: Goan Warriors FC, Tivim registered a solitary goal win over Sao Jose de Areal to move into the semi-finals of the 43rd Cana-Benaulim soccer organised by Cana-Benaulim Sporting Association, at Sao Joao Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Wednesday.
Goan Warriors fought tooth and nail to take the lead in the 15th minute through Profot Arabekar. Minutes later, Marcus Mascarenhas could have equalised but the latter’s shot was saved by Sanif Budge keeper of Goan Warriors.
Goan Warriors FC, Tivim will now meet the winner of Sai Avtar Anjuna and Tilamol United, Quepem in the semi-final on June 25.
