Goa’s Sher Bahadur clinches silver in wushu to take State tally to 48

PANJIM: Sher Bahadur added a silver medal to Goa’s tally in wushu to take the State’s tally to 48 medals in the 37th National Games at the Campal Games village, on Saturday. 

Sher Bahadur finished second in Taulo Nangun category with a total score of 8.85 behind Manipur’s Yurembam Bonish. Prashant Manhas of Himachal Pradesh took home the bronze.This is Goa’s third medal in wushu. The home State had already won one silver and one bronze in the first two days of competition.

Goa is currently in the 11th position in the medals tally with 10 gold, 12 silver and 26 bronze. Elsewhere in boxing, Goa’s Aakash Gorkha defeated Manipur’s Rohit Ningehougan 5-0 in Light Welter Weight category to advance to the next round.
