SAO JOSE DE AREAL: Holy Cross, Mugalli defeated Naughty Boys, Padribhat 4-1 to lift the 17th Areal inter-ward trophy organised by Holy Cross Association, Mugalli, at Sao Jose de Areal ground, on Sunday.
Holy Cross Mugalli opened the score-line through Nevil Monteiro’s header in the 10th minute. Within fifteen minutes, Holy Cross doubled the lead through Jovito Monteiro with a snap shot.
Jovito made it 3-0 for Holy Cross in the 40th minute. Five minutes later, Jeston Fernandes made it 4-0 for Holy Cross.
Agio Antao pulled a goal back for Naughty Boys in the 50th minute off a free-kick.
The winners were awarded Rs. 15,000 while the runners-up received Rs. 10,000 plus trophies.
Moreno Rebello, ZP member was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Fr Richard Pinheiro, parish priest of St Joseph Church, Areal and other dignitaries.
