Salman Ali Agha has been officially reprimanded by the International Cricket Council following an on-field incident during the second ODI between Pakistan national cricket team and Bangladesh national cricket team on Friday. The Pakistan batter was found to have breached Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct under Article 2.2, which relates to the abuse of cricket equipment or ground fittings during an international match.
The incident occurred in the 39th over when Agha was run out. Frustrated by the dismissal, he threw his gloves and helmet onto the ground, an act deemed inappropriate under the ICC’s disciplinary regulations. As a result, he received an official reprimand and one demerit point, marking his first offence within a 24-month period.
The charge was brought forward by on-field umpires Adrian Holdstock and Tanvir Ahmed, along with third umpire Kumar Dharmasena and fourth umpire Masudur Rahman Mukul. Agha accepted the sanction imposed by match referee Neeyamur Rashid Rahul.
Despite the disciplinary issue, Pakistan delivered a commanding performance in the match, winning by 128 runs. Agha contributed a valuable 64 runs, while young batter Maaz Sadakat impressed with 75. Pakistan posted a competitive total of 275.
For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain claimed three wickets, but the team struggled in the chase. Litton Das was the top scorer with 41, as Bangladesh were bowled out for just 114.
Pakistan bowlers dominated the innings, with Sadakat and Haris Rauf taking three wickets each. The result levelled the ODI series 1-1, with the decider set to take place in Dhaka on Sunday.
