Stand-up comedian Zakir Khan has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital, sparking concern among fans after a recent vlog showed him watching a cricket match from his hospital room. The video, shared by his brother Arbaz Khan during Ramadan, captured a light-hearted moment despite the comedian’s health concerns.
In the vlog, Zakir was seen wearing a pink hospital robe while watching the India vs England Cricket World Cup match with friends and family gathered around him. When Arbaz asked about his condition, the comedian responded in his usual humorous style, saying, “Match abhi fasa hua hai [The match is in a critical spot right now].” His witty reply reassured fans that he was still keeping his spirits high even while recovering in the hospital.
However, the glimpse of Zakir in hospital attire quickly triggered concern among fans on social media. Many flooded the comments section with messages wishing him a speedy recovery. One fan wrote, “Are you okay? Get well soon before Eid. Sending lots of positive and healthy vibes your way.” Another commented, “Why is Zakir bhai in the hospital?” reflecting the curiosity and concern shared by many followers.
The comedian had recently revealed that he plans to step back from work and social media for a while to prioritise his health. Speaking about his decision, Zakir clarified that he is not quitting comedy entirely but taking time to slow down.
“Main hatna bilkul nahi chahta, main break lena chahta hu… thoda student ki tarah jeevan bitana hai, sehat par dhyan dena hai,” he said. Zakir added that the break will likely last “1.5–2 saal ka hi break hai”, as he plans to travel across India while focusing on improving his health and lifestyle.
While the exact reason for his hospitalisation has not been disclosed, fans continue to send prayers and good wishes, hoping the beloved comedian returns healthy and energetic soon.
