Karally Five Bros win Quepem tourney

Five Brothers, Karally, Quepem defeated St Cruz Boys, Kakumoddi 1-0 to emerge champions of 1st All-Goa 5-a-side football tournament organised by Youth of Crosslands, Quepem at Vodlemol ground, Quepem.
The match started with Five Brothers looking hungrier of the two sides as they made attacking forays and enjoyed decent possession to trouble the St Cruz Boys.
The match-winner came in the first half when Dujon Rodrigues bulged the net from close range.
The second session, saw St Cruz Boys putting up a better display but they could not trouble the rivals as they looked pale in contrast to Five Brothers.
Five Brothers were richer by Rs 5,000 while St Cruz Boys had to settle for Rs 3000.
Dujon Rodrigues and Arom Fernandes both of Five Brothers were adjudged first scorer and best player of the finals respectively.
Quepem MLA, Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar was the chief guest. Subhash Phaldessai, ex-Zilla Panchayat Member, Jamie Daniel, ex-Councilor, Quepem Municipal Council, Epocin Pereira and Peter Miranda were the guest of honours. Selvin Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.
