DULER: Kelbai Sports Club tasted their first win defeating Sinquerim SC 2-0 in the GFA’s 6th Edition Vedanta Women’s league played at Duler stadium here on Thursday.
Both the teams from Mayem village put up a good display in the first half.

Kelbai eves, having lost their earlier two matches, came up with better display and went into the breather with a one-goal cushion.
Earlier in the match Sinquerim’s Tanaya Naik failed twice in finding the nets from close range.
At the other end Kelbai’s Donea Fernandes collected a cross from Anshika Gupta but delayed in shooting and was dispossessed.
Five minutes later Simran Narvekar’s shot from close saw Sinquerim keeper Sejaj Naik pushing the ball for an abortive corner.
In the 43rd minute Priya Dhatkar aimed the post with the rebound being blocked by Kelbai defender for a corner.
Just two minutes later Kelbai’s striker Simran Narvekar seeing Sinquerim keeper Sejaj leave her charge shot into the goal 1-0.
A minute into the second session, Kelbai’s Donea Fernandes latched on to a long ranger which beat keeper Sejaj hands down 2-0.
Play was then restricted to midfield with Sinquerim trying their best to reduce the margin but Kelbai eves were content with their two-goal lead.
Donea Fernandes received the man of the match award from the hands of Uday Lingudkar GFA’s Executive Committee member.
