Mandopa SC scored both the goals in the first half.
Mandopa SC had the upper hand in all departments with Aulon Gomes scoring the opening goal in the 7th minute and Anthony Pereira doubling the score in the 12th minute.
In the second half, Cortalim Villagers squandered two chances through Alison Rodrigues and Elvis Pereira as both shot wide in the 47th and 48th minutes.
Thereafter, Mandopa SC through Aulon header missed the nets of Cortalim Villagers in the 50th minute.
On Sunday, Curtorim Gymkhana defeated Betalbatim SC 4-2 via the tie-breaker to cruise into the quarter-finals.
Both teams displayed an attacking football, Betalbatim SC had a chance to score in the 8th and 10th minutes through Klinsman Pereira and Austin Fernandes but their shots hit the cross bar and rebound back to play.
Curtorim Gymkhana with the efforts of Agnelo Martins could have almost scored in the 15th minute but his shot was divinely saved by Betalbatim goalkeeper Ryan Fernandes.
Change of ends saw both teams trying to score the match winner. Betalbatim SC through Ricky Fernandes set up Klinsman in the 46th minute but Curtorim Gymkhana defender Lieto Fernandes foiled the latter’s move.
Thereafter, Curtorim Gymkhana’s Agnelo’s long ranger shot hit the goalpost of Betalbatim SC and went out of play in the 51st minute.
At the end of regulation time, the score was 1-1 draw. In the ensuing tie-breaker, Curtorim Gymkhana were on target through Agnelo Martins, Savio Fernandes, Mario Mascarenhas and Charles Colaco while Betalbatim SC netted through Klinsman Pereira and Ricky Fernandes.
