PANJIM: Margao and Bardez Veterans moved ahead in the Ramchandra G Pankar all Goa veterans T-20 cricket tournament, organised by Dost Cricket Club of Khorlim–Mapusa, on Friday.
At Porvorim Cricket Academy ground, Margao defeated Pernem Veterans by 8 wickets while in the second match Bardez easily outwitted Vasco Veterans by 8 wickets.
Batting first, Pernem Veterans scored 93 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Margao Veterans chased down the target in just 11.5 overs. Margao’s Ankush Khutkar won the Man-of-the-Match award for his unbeaten 40.
In the other match, electing to bat first, Vasco scored 86 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Bardez reached the target in 12.5 overs.
Bardez’s Paresh Miskin was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match for his unbeaten 38.
