MARGAO: Margao Sports Club blanked Sporting Club of Davorlim 2-0 to advance into the quarter-final of all-Goa Zenia and Ziya inter village football tournament organized by Rossman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club, at Manora ground, Raia, on Saturday. Margao led 1-0 at half time.
Margao the held upper hand in both the sessions and kept their opponents on the back-foot. They surged ahead in the 20th minute when Joel Camara slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot.
Sporting Club of Davorlim tried their best to neutralize the lead but failed to get past the rival rearguard.
Post resumption, Margao continued to dictate terms and intensified their attacks and doubled the lead after Minguel Baretto bulged the net off a well-measured cross from Francis Andrade.
