PANJIM: Marina English High School, Verna beat Youth Futsal Academy 5-0 in the U-10 Youth Futsal League organised by Youth Futsal Academy, at Chowgule Futsal Court, Margao.
Jodric Abranches was the star performer for the winners as his foul-goal haul which bagged him the Man-of-the-Match award condemned Youth Futsal Academy to yet another defeat.
Loyola HS, Margao kept themselves ahead in the race for the spot to qualify for the final as they thrashed a hapless Manovikas English Medium School 7-1.
Loyola’s Keegan Crasto scored the fastest goal of the league soon after kick-off with a brilliant strike. Jonathan Ferrao scored a well deserved hat-trick and took away the Man-of-the-Match award. Renan Mascarenhas and Sohan Fernandes were the other goal scorers for the winners.
Unbeaten Perpetual Succor Convent HS, Navelim who have already booked their place in the final, were made to sweat to keep their record intact against a very spirited St Jude’s HS, Betalbatim in a hard fought 6-5 victory. Valen Plyson Vaz scored one and Sakib Shaikh scored five for the winners. St Jude’s Shane Ferrao fought valiantly scoring five in a losing cause but was rewarded with the Man-of-the-Match trophy.
Regina Martyrum HS, Assolna remain in contention for a spot in the final as they edged out The Kings School 2-1 in the round eight clash.
Kris Fernandes gave Kings school the lead before a Kings defender directed the ball into his own net. Regina scored the winner in the second half through Brac Fernandes. Leo Miranda was rewarded for his hard work with the Man-of-the-Match trophy.
Rosary HS, Navelim triumphed with a 6-5 victory over YFA Warriors. Aarav Coutinho scored a hat-trick and Isaac Faleiro and Jaden Ozorio scored the other two for Warriors. Sam Pereira scored four goals while Shawn Rebello scored for the winners.
