DEUSSUA-CHINCHINIM: Mount Mary’s High School, Chinchinim shot-out Our Lady Mother of The Poor High School, Tilamol 5-4 via the tie-breaker to lift the 5th St Joseph Vaz soccer cup, organised by Mount Mary’s Educational Complex, Chinchinim, at Our Lady of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim, on Thursday.
Both halves remained goalless draw.
In the tie-breaker, Mount Mary’s High School, Chinchinim netted through Shario Gomes, Deepak Parwar, Sidroy Pereira, Prem Bukham and Larson Rebello while Salgeo Dias, Jordan Faria, Mickey Dias and Godwin D’Costa scored for Our Lady Mother of The Poor, Tilamol.
The winners were awarded Rs 10,000 while the runners-up had to settle for Rs 8,000 plus trophies
GFA President Churchill Alemao was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Franco B Martins, Trevor Barreto, Francis G Fernandes, Fr Jose Antonio Da Costa, Fr Joism De Souza, Fr Stifan C Rebello, Johnston Rebello, Mario Vales,Milagres Silva and other dignitaries.
