PANJIM: Navelim Villagers Union reached the finals of the 18 Holy Cross soccer tourney by defeating United Club of Nerul 1-0, at Vodlemoll Kakoda ground on Wednesday.

Navelim scored the decisive goal on a counter attack as the Nerul custodian Siddhesh could not handle the shot from William Gomes and the rebound fell to Alvito Colaco who made no mistake to place the ball at the back of the net.

In the second half Nerul tried to find the equaliser but their forwards could not provide the finishing touches.

The finals will be played between Navelim Villagers Union and Dicarpale SC on Saturday, May 10 at Vodlemoll Kakoda ground.
