PANJIM: Our Lady of Grace High School, Bicholim registered a huge 71-run win over S S Samiti Smt Indirabai V Bhat Dhavalikar HS to emerge State champions of the U-16 President Cup for girls at SAG ground, Campal, on Monday.
Batting first, Our Lady of Grace scored 154 for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 25 overs.
Kaushika Gaonkar (46) and Metali Gawander (33) were top scorers for the Bicholim side.
Vaishnavi Phadke and Siddhi Agadvekar took two wickets each.
In reply, a brilliant bowling display from Our Lady of Grace bundled out S S Samiti for 83 in 24.1 overs.
Vaishanavi Phadke (13) was the only batswoman to score double figures.
Shreya Gaddi (3/3) was the pick of Bicholim bowlers. Methali Gawander (11/3), Sristi Kolanbkar (2/1), Samiksha Kokre (29/1) and Ridan Shaikh (27/1) were the other wicket takers.
Mithali Gawander was awarded the Woman-of-the-match.
