PANJIM: P. Walawkar Higher Secondary School Mapusa defeated Shri Shantadurga Higher Secondary School Bicholim by 18 runs in the Under 19 Boys cricket tournament played at Peddem Sports Complex, Mapusa, on Thursday.
Wining the toss and electing to bat first P. Walawkar HSS scored a total of 136 runs from 20 overs. Yash Parab (43), Ketan Nandrekar (19) and Shubham (17) were the top scorers for the winners.
Shri Shantadurga’s Chimay picked two wickets in attempt to contain the rival batsmen.
In reply Shri Shantadurga HSS managed to score 118 runs. Alamik (34), Aryan (19), Sahil (13) and Siddhant (13) were the top scorers for the Bicholim side. Bowling at the other end P. Walawkar HSS’ Yogesh picked four wickets while Balpreth, Prath and Amit took a wicket each to restrict the rivals.
