PANJIM: ITI Panjim, ITI Bicholim, ITI Sesa clinched football, volleyball and cricket titles respectively at 13th all-Goa inter-ITI sports competition (zonal finals) at SAG ground, Campal, Saturday.
ITI Cacora scored a double in tennikoit. In girls tennikoit singles, Cacora defeated ITI Margao while in the doubles, they beat ITI Mapusa.
In boys tennikot doubles, ITI Mapusa got the better of ITI Cacora.
ITI Canacona bagged the first place in discus throw while ITI Panjim settled for the second.
In shot put, ITI Cacora stood first while ITI Farmagudi fininshed second.
ITI Margao finished first in 4x 100m relay with ITI Farmagudi finishing second.
Prizes were distributed by Labour Minister Avertano Furtado. Benjamin Silva, MLA, Dr Rufino Monteiro, chairman, Goa Football Development Council; Aleixo da Costa, director, Craftsman Training and other officials of State Directorate of Craftsmen Training.
On Friday, ITI Margao scored a solitary goal win over ITI, Canacona to move into the zonal final at Fatorda ground, Margao.
Joseph Vaz scored the all-important goal for Margao in the 20th minute.
Earlier, ITI Sesa defeated ITI Mapusa at St Cruz ground. In the north zone finals (cricket) ITI Sesa had defeated ITI Bicholim by nine wickets.
In volleyball, ITI Cacora had defeated ITI Farmagudi 5/21, 25/15.
