NAVELIM/CANSAULIM: Union of Chinchinim Villagers defeated CRSC Navelim 4-2 in their GFA U-16 encounter at the Rosary ground, Navelim on Tuesday.
Preston Fernandes and Akshay Konkre scored a brace each for Union of Chinchinim Villagers, while Roland Rodrigues and Rohan Rodrigues scored a goal each for Navelim in the 37th and 64th minute respectively.
At Cansaulim ground, Portais SC defeated FC Neura 3-2.
At half time the score was 2-0 in favour of Portais.
Harsh Patre had the first go in the third minute but his shot was blocked by FC Neura goalkeeper.
In the 12th minute, Meven Dias scored off a free-kick by Shivam.
In the 15th Saideep missed an open chance after an assist by Meven but Harsh scored from a penalty before the break for his brace.
In the 50th minute, Sandesh Kulkarni of FC Neura reduced the margin while Hadson headed in off a corner in the 66th minute to make it 2-2. In the 76th minute Arnold was unlucky as he saw his effort kiss the crossbar.
With 10 minutes to go for the final whistle, Meckenzie scored the match-winner for Portais after receiving a pass from Aditya.
