MAPUSA: PVC Parra managed to edge past FC Tuem by 2-1 margin and clinch the Goa Football Association’s Division II League Bardez Zone title in the match played at Duler Stadium, here, on Sunday.
After Sunday’s match, PVC Parra (20 points) and Vagator PYSC (19 points) have both qualified for the play-offs. FC Tuem (6 points) and Benny XI (7 points) have been relegated to the GFA’s Division III League.
In a thrilling encounter, both the teams played tooth and nail till the final hooter.
All the goals came in the last quarter of the match with FC Tuem stunning PVC Parra with a 79th minute goal from the boots of Akram Yadwad, 1-0.
Stung by the reverse, PVC Parra not only levelled terms through Shadab Sheikh (81st minute) but saw striker Atish Mirajkar score the match winning goal in the 92nd minute to send the large PVC Parra supporters into ruptures, 2-1.
At Vagator ground: Vagator PYSC trounced BAFF by 5-0 margin.
Vagator PYSC went into the breather with two goals cushion, with Umesh Pujar and Wilson Fernandes scoring. On crossing ends, after missing number of open sitters, Vagator PYSC pumped in three more goals through Joanathan D’Costa, Glen and Shelton Fernandes adding their names to the scorer’s list.
At Poriat ground, Goan Warriors registered a 4-1 win over Benny XI. Aditya Talwar netted a hat-trick with Anthony scoring the fourth goal. For Benny XI’s Flyod pulled a goal.
