RBI win by 4 runs over Air India

PANJIM: RBI won by 4 runs against Air India in the opening match of the Goa Corporate League held at Goa Cricket Academy ground, on Saturday.

PANJIM: RBI won by 4 runs against Air India in the opening match of the Goa Corporate League held at Goa Cricket Academy ground, on Saturday. 
Air India won the toss and elected to field. Sumit Gadigaonkar and Sayan S Mondal opened the batting for RBI. The duo managed to lay down the foundation for RBI as they put up a 95 run partnership before Sumit dismissed for 51 runs off 32 balls. Sayan fell short of 10 runs of scoring a cenutry as he was sent back to the pavilion after Lait Yadav picked up his wicket. 
The RBI skipper scored 46 runs off 19 balls. RBI scored 221 for 6 in their 20 overs. The Air India bowler put up a formidable performance as Sachin Rana and Mohit Jangra took two wickets each. Shiva Singh and Lalit Yadav picked up a wicket each. 
Air India opened their innings with skipper MS Bisla and Aditya Kaushik. Bisla missed out on his century as he was sent back to the pavilion by Ali Murtaza on 99. Aditya remained unbeaten on 87 runs as the other Air India batsmen failed to provide the much needed runs as the RBI bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals. Ali Murtaza scalped two wickets while Kuldeep Hooda picked up a wicket.  Ali Murtaza was awarded the Player-of-the-Match award.  
 Goa Tuskers beat Dr DY Patil by 3 runs: Electing to bat,Goa Tuskers scored 196 for 5 in 20 overs and managed to hold Dr DY Patil to  193 for 9.  Suyesh Prabhudesai scored an unbeaten 65 runs off 41 balls for the winners while Subhoth Bhati managed to take a 5 wicket haul as he earned the Player-of-the-Match award.   
Mandeep Singh scored 60 runs off 38 balls for Dr DY Patil.
