PANJIM: Salgaocar FC jrs blanked St Savio SC 3-0 in the GFA Geno First Division League match played at Artificial turf Fatorda, on Monday.
Salgaocar FC started the match on an attacking note and surged ahead late in the first half after they tamed the resilient Calangute side.
St Savio put up a good show and tried to make a statement as they missed a couple of chances at the rival goal.
Salgaocar managed to finally find the breakthrough in the injury time of the first half as their start striker Ronaldo Oliveira slotted the goal past St Savio SC keeper.
Post resumption, Chailan Kamapant doubled the lead as he netted the second goal for Salgaocar FC.
St Savio SC tried to make a comeback but the Green Brigade stood tall in their defence.
Stephen Sataikai drove the final nail into the coffin for Salgaocar in the 60th minute as they took the match away from St Savio SC.
In another match, played at Duler Stadium Mapusa, Goa Police SC defeated Velsao SCC 2-0.
Rohit Pilgaonkar scored the first goal for Goa Polica SC in the add-on time of the first half.
Post resumption, Milind Shinde netted the second goal for the winners.
