In the first half, the teams were locked 1-1.
Churchill Brothers SC dominated the proceedings from the start and surged ahead in the 30th minute through Nicholas Fernandes’ grounder off an assist from Samson Fernandes.
However, Salgaocar FC regrouped and equalized four minutes later through Jaison Barbosa’s deft placement off a cross from Myron Borges.
Crossing over, Salgaocar FC took control of the proceedings and went ahead as Naro Hari Shrestha unleashed a venomous strike off an assist from Myron Borges.
Churchill Brothers did not give up and tried to bounce back but the rival defence left them frustrated. Seriton Fernandes tried his luck but his powerful shot was saved by the Salgaocar FC custodian.
Salgaocar FC will take on Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim in the semi-finals on August 16, at Tilak Maidan.
