In the first half, Velsao Sports and Cultural Club led 2-0.
Velsao dominated the proceeding and took the lead through Elvino Fernandes in the 12th minute off an assist by Brian Diniz.
Thereafter, Union of Chinchinim Villagers tried hard to regroup. In the 16th minute, Domingos Rebelo came up with a promising move but his attempt was foiled by the defence of Velsao.
At the other end, Velsao doubled their lead in the 25th minute through Jovito Barretto as the latter dribbled past two rival defenders and finished neatly.
Crossing over, Union of Chinchinim Villagers had the lion’s share of ball possession and pulled a goal back through Domingos, who unleashed a power-packed grounder off an assist by Ashley Rebello.
Subsequently, they restored parity through a delightful volley from Sunny Simoes.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Union of Chinchinim Villagers kept their cool and scored through Jousvey D’Costa, Skney Souza, Domingos Rebello, Ashley Rebello and Sunny Simoes while Velsao converted through Brian Dias, Elvino Fernandes, Richie Rodrigues and Charlie Fernandes.
