MARGAO: Salgaocar Football Club will hold open selection trials for boys born on or after 1-1-2000 on April 2 and for those born on or after 1-1-2001 on April 3 at Duncolim-Seraulim ground, as part of the club’s youth development programme. Those interested may report at the venue at 8.30 a.m. with kit and a copy of birth certificate.
Salgaocar has already selected U-12 boys from its partner school Loyola High School, Margao and is now giving young aspiring Goan footballers from South Goa a chance to make it into one of India’s best youth set ups.
Tie-breaker at Ponda
PONDA: Amigos de Ponda will organize their 25th all-Goa 3-a-side tie-breaker tournament on March 31 from 7.30 p.m. at Mount Carmel chapel lawns, Ponda. The winners will get Rs 5555, the runners-up Rs 3333 and third place winners Rs 2222 besides individual prizes.
