GWS cricket cup in Dubai
DUBAI, OCT 19
Sanquelim Eagles, Dubai won the GWS cricket cup 2010 organised by Goan Welfare Society, Dubai at Zabeel Park cricket ground, Dubai.
In the one-sided final, Sanquelim Eagles defeated Jolly Tiger Golden team by 21 runs. Batting first, Sanquelim scored 39 runs in 4 overs with the help of a blistering performance from Sher Khan, who was awarded man-of-the-final and man-of-the-tournament. He was well supported by Feroz Aga, captain Younus and Firdous of Sanquelim Eagles.
Jolly Tiger scored 18 runs in 4 overs with good bowling performance by Feroz Aga, Younus, Sher Khan and left arm pacer Irfan (Tajuddin) who was awarded best bowler prize of the tournament.
Earlier, Sanquelim Eagles defeated Valpoi SC, Ponda and in the semi-finals they defeated The Unknown Virus.
