SANQUELIM: Sanquelim FC defeated Milagres Sports Club, Mapusa 5-4 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the 2nd Late Musa Ali Aga Memorial football tournament organised by Eagles SC, at Sanquelim ground, on Wednesday.
The full-time score remained goalless.
It was Prayojot Kerkar of Milagres who’s shot was brilliantly saved by Sanquelim goalkeeper Kaif Shaikh in the ninth minute.
Later, Sanquelim’s Rudresh Mandrekar’s powerful shot flew over the Milagres cross bar in the 13th minute.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Sanquelim FC netted through Rudresh Mandrekar, Tukaram Gaonkar, Dinesh Pawar, R Sawant and Praveen Kanekar while Prajyot Kerkar, Stephen Martins, Dereck Rodrigues and Sadanad Naik netted for Milagres SC.
Sanquelim goalkeeper Kaif Sheikh was named man-of-the-match.
